Dochula Pass

Dochula Pass is a mountain pass in the Kingdom of Bhutan, located on the road from Thimphu to Punakha. It is situated at an elevation of 3,100 meters (10,171 feet) above sea level. One of the main attractions at Dochula Pass is the Druk Wangyal Chortens, a cluster of 108 stupas built in honor of the fourth king of Bhutan. The pass is known for its stunning panoramic views of the eastern Himalayas on clear days.

Apart from the chortens, Dochula Pass is also famous for the Druk Wangyal Lhakhang, a temple that was built in 2008. The lhakhang is adorned with intricate murals depicting the military victories of the Bhutanese armed forces, especially during the conflict with Indian insurgents.

The pass is a popular stop for tourists traveling between Thimphu and Punakha, not only for its cultural and religious significance but also for the breathtaking scenery that it offers.
